From data to sand

ETF, an EU agency whose aim is to support the reforms of education systems and access to the labour market in the countries bordering the EU, is organising the conference Skills for the Future: Managing Transition with the participation of representatives of 50 countries during two days at the OGR in Turin. The aim is to explore and share the global trends that shape tomorrow’s education and labour market, from the point of view of skills.

For the occasion, Wild Mazzini invited Egyptian sand artist Andrew Magdy to create two live data art works, through sand, drawing on the official data of the conference. The performance aims to link the “cold” information with the “human nature” to which they refer: the sand in fact represents a metaphor for the theme of skills.
